A client's recent request reminded me that I had yet to add the globe lights into the inventory.  I chatted about them earlier in the spring, received them in May and forgot to tell all of you!

In any case, I have a few strands of globe lights and linear lights to add to your decor and they are suitable for outdoor use.

You have been asking and soon you shall receive.  Yes, 100 mis-matched vintage chairs will be part of the HVR inventory this summer.  I am excited that so many of you have latched onto this fabulous look.  I can't wait to share all the new chairs coming our way. They will be here soon.

Take a look at these pictures and you will instantly fall in love with the look.

Perhaps you are asking yourself, only 100?  What if I have more guests?  Well, there are always church pews and benches to rest on.  We can also source more chairs if needed.

On a budget but still want the look?  I think (and I haven't tried it yet) that you could mix & match vintage chairs with the white fold-up rentals.  For example, order 50% white chairs  The trick is to tie vintage ribbon at the backs of the chairs.  It takes off the shiny and bright white and adds a touch of your wedding colours.  Remember, when 100 chairs or more are placed together, guests aren't staring at one particular chair.  It is the overall look that will capture their attention.

A few weeks ago I was walking around in downtown Toronto on a Sunday.  All was quiet in the big office towers so I took my time looking at the window displays.  My eyes go well beyond the clothes and the mannequins.  I tend to look at all the props surrounding them.

Here are a few things I spotted.

pencil sketches, vintage sewing machine, buttons, vintage dressmakers mannequin, linen fabrics, wooden stools

See those scattered buttons?

And what is summer without a campfire? Vintage coke case and vintage coleman lantern.

I am quickly realizing that I do not have much time towards the end of each week because we are packing and delivering rentals to your events!  So I will finish off the magenta and white party from last week with today's blog post.

I tell me clients that even if they like vintage, it doesn't have to be splashed in every corner.  Last week I showed the little vintage vignettes we had placed around their home - the lemonade stand, the jam jars and the peonies in vintage jars.

Today we finish off the party tour with an eye-full of magenta table clothes against stunning white back drops.  Enjoy!

Vintage frame, jars and a picnic basket (used to prop up frame) were used at the entrance.

The children enjoyed their meals at the tables inside the home.

More tables for the young adults!

The tent featured 8 long tables. The magenta table clothes really were stunning against the white tent and white carpet.

Table numbers - simply stenciled on a tag and attached with twine to a vintage jar.

4 cruiser tables were scattered around the bar area.
And last but not least, the sweet direction sign we custom made for the party.  A large balloon was attached to the top and greeted guests as they entered the home to make their way to the backyar

Event Planner, Angela Zaltsman from A to Z Event Management and the client came up with the idea to provide guests with a special sweet treat as the guest take-away.  To go along with the back yard / vintage / picnic theme, jars of rhubarb-strawberry jam were prepared.  Crisp white material covering the lid were secured with twine and a white and magenta place card was attached.

For the place card display, I used the pine table, crates, picnic baskets and a frame with a chalkboard insert.  Angela added the lights to give that festive glow and the balloon was one of many placed around the yard, courtesy of the Balloon Boutique.

I bet there were more than a few guests who enjoyed fresh homemade jam with their toast the next morning.  What a great way to remember the party!
