Looking for sturdy and stylish harvest tables for your wedding or party? Hazlitt Vintage Rentals is now renting harvest tables! The tables were hand built with pine and finished for a vintage look. These are reproductions. Lets face it, it is almost impossible to find ten to twenty harvest tables that are the same!
The reproduction harvest tables measure 8 feet long x 40 inches wide. They seat 8 to 10 people.
Benches were also created to go along with the tables. Our collection of 100 mis matched vintage chairs look amazing with the table or if you like, the benches are extremely comfortable and sturdy. Benches can be rented separately from the tables or as a set. Benches are great for ceremony seating too!
The reproduction benches measure 8 feet long x 18 inches wide. They seat 4 people for dining and 5 for ceremony seating.
Custom quotes available. Email Selena at info@hazlittvintagerental.com for more information. Book early!

I am excited to welcome April, spring showers and flowers too! Thank goodness March was such a miserable weather month because it gave me lots of time to gather, clean and price so many vintage pieces for the upcoming sale.

| Any event updates and additional photos will be posted on the Hazlitt Vintage Rental Facebook page and the Smitten With Spring Pop-Up Shop Facebook page. I'll be adding pictures often as the sale approaches. So what is this sale all about? Well, it comes down to a couple of things. Primarily it has to do with my personal shopping habit. You see whenever I am out & about searching for great rental props I stumble upon sweet little pieces that I consider perfect for the final touches. These all work very well when clients hire Hazlitt Vintage Rental to style an event but lets face it, a stylist only has so much storage space. I also have a personal affection for vintage linens and clothing too! I love the feel of crisp linen and I can't get enough of vintage dresses (although my closet would say otherwise). So at some point, a spring cleaning is in order! Secondly, I hear from a lot of people who want to buy the items I collect. I appreciate that they actually like what I pick out and want to use it in their homes. It might be an interesting piece for on a bookshelf or a vintage pitcher that they will use for flowers. It could be a refurbished table or vintage linens. So I'm going to give this sale thing a try. Find out more about what you really like and if there is any chance of me finding a place for Hazlitt Vintage treasures in the retail market. Partnering with Luann's Flowers is such a treat! West Street in Goderich is finally starting to lose its construction zone vibe and is coming back strong after that nasty tornado in August of 2011. I hang out at Luann's quite a bit, chatting with her while she makes gorgeous arrangements. My son is such a regular in the shop that he now just walks right into the flower cooler to pick his favourites. The Pop-Up Shop seemed like a natural fit and something that would be good for our souls. If you are thinking about a day trip to Goderich or even an overnight stay, let me know. I'll give you some greats tips about where to stay and dine! I realize some of you came from Michigan, Toronto and Niagara for the summer Hazlitt Vintage sale at Dunlop Livery Antiques. I was so ever thankful to meet you! I hope many of you will take a day trip and come to the area I call home. The forecast sounds lovely for a drive in the country.
Ah June. Remember that month? The glorious time of year when grass is tender and green, the pollens of the spring season have moved on, peonies are blooming and summer is within reach. Long ago, June was the traditional wedding month. Although trends are shifting the popular wedding months to September and October, I am still a fan of tradition. I love a June wedding!
Isn't this a lovely wedding party?
The bride, Alicia, is an absolute doll. She had a vision and even though a drippy, rainy June day challenged us for set-up, her photographer captured some beautiful shots. The wedding party gathered at a friend's home, in the country near Dublin, Ontario, for some vintage fun. Thanks Alicia and Michelle (Michelle Van Loon from MAC Photography of Seaforth) for sharing the photos with Hazlitt Vintage.
Rain forced them under the covered deck. What a beautiful bride; I love the shoes!
Beautiful ladies (and they are drinking champagne, even better!)

This week spring officially arrives! I can hardly wait to boot this frigid winter weather out the door. While I'm busy gathering an eclectic mix of goodies for the HVR 'smitten with spring' Pop-Up Shop, I thought we all needed a taste of spring prettiness.

Spring is almost here! After some winter relaxation, I am ready for the exciting season ahead for Hazlitt Vintage. We are kicking-off the spring season with our first-ever pop-up shop in our home town. Hosted by one our faves, Luann's Flowers & Gifts, Hazlitt Vintage is bringing you a wonderful spring collection of vintage treasurers for your home. The Hazlitt Vintage "smitten with spring" collection is a vintage shoppers delight. So many lovely things in one place for a very limited time. 3 days only : Thursday April 4, Friday April 5 and Saturday April 6. 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. 35 West Street, Goderich All sales are final Cash or credit cards accepted If you are coming in from out of town, book a night's stay at Samuel's Hotel. It is a sweet little place nestled along the Maitland River and only minutes from the shop.
Well, if you haven't bought or made your sweetie something for today (it is Valentine's Day!!), I am going to strongly suggest you call Lilium. This morning. Immediately. Order a bouquet of love. I haven't visited with Marilyn and Phyllis since last April! I miss sitting in their lovely shop on Hazelton Avenue and watching them busily put bouquets together. Whether it is a succulent, driftwood and moss piece for a gentlemen's scotch tasting night, the latest installation at Trump Towers, a simple potted orchid or gorgeous centrepieces, this place is full of love, beauty and fun. They created a user friendly web site. There is an order tab at the top of every page. Arrangements are shown, along with a price and size guide. One the finishing touches for an Lilium arrangement is the packaging. I have a friend in Toronto who receives Lilium arrangements from time to time (lucky gal!). She assures me that it is quite a moment to open the door to a Lilium arrangement. Not only beautiful on the outside but just as pretty once opened. If you are a couple wanting to chat about wedding flowers, you can book an appointment on-line too. A bride might also want to consider having a bridesmaid get together at Lilium where together you can learn how to hand-tie bouquets, make centrepieces and more. Consider signing up for one of their signature courses. As I type this, I just decided I am going to book myself a night out at the shop. I'll let you know which course I sign up for and maybe you will want to join me. From Hazlitt Vintage Rental, we wish you a Happy Valentine's Day with friends and family xoxo
I treated myself to a new piece of jewellery in January. I couldn't resist it. All day I walked around with a beautiful necklace made by Tara Fava. It was a loaner of sorts. At the end of the day when it was time to return it, I couldn't bear to see it go. Now I am the proud owner of a Tara Fava original and I couldn't be happier.

Tara was part of the team for a creative shoot by Life Images & Truffle that we worked on two years ago. Click here to see the Style Me Pretty feature. There were multiple wardrobe changes for this shoot. Tara had outstanding pieces for absolutely every vintage dress that was used that day. She has a wonderful eye for what works with a gown and for the person who is wearing it. I think part of wearing jewellery is being comfortable with the style while adding something special. Tara is a wonderful soul to work with and trust me, you will feel like a million dollars by the time you are done picking out the most perfect pieces for your day.

I think a stunning piece of jewellery is a wonderful keepsake from your wedding. If you have family pieces you intend to wear, let Tara know. She will recommend something that will compliment those pieces. Just think, a new necklace or earrings or bracelet can be your 'something new' and can be handed down for years to come. They are my son's idols. Almost every time we are in Toronto, there is a stop at their shop in Leslieville. This is where a 5 year old boy ate his first macaron and never looked back. During the Christmas holiday break, he watched their Sugar Rush t.v. show once a day. He has dreams. Big Gingerbread Dreams!
On Saturday my son finally met his idols, Sarah & Allyson. The spent a couple of hours talking about all sorts of things, just like old friends. This moving gingerbread carousel from their Sugar Rush show was his inspiration and sealed the deal for his massive admiration of these two ladies.
I am not a fan of eating gingerbread but I am absolutely hooked on Bobbette & Belle's hot chocolate and the lime coconut cupcake (and the chocolate and the lemon and ....) . I concur with so many others that Sarah refined the cupcake recipe to absolute perfection. I don't think I'm announcing anything new because lets face it, you have more than likely already heard about them or watched Allyson & Sarah on Canada AM and/or the Marilyn Denis Show (Tip: They are on the Marilyn show today talking about chocolate truffles for Valentines).
Countdown is on to order these sweet cookies before Valentines!
I can't say enough about these gals and the team they pulled together to offer the prettiest of decorating, the tastiest treats and an overall gorgeous shop to enjoy any time of the week. They offer a signature line of wedding cakes and also provide custom design for absolutely anything your heart desires. (I think the boy might become Allyson's next design assistant.) Plus there are cupcakes, French macarons, guest favours and more. The web site is extremely helpful for couples planning their cake and dessert treats. The price point is indicated so you know exactly what to expect. Click on the cake photo and it will take you to a page that shows what the cake would look like for a small or a large number of guests, there are additional pictures of variations (i.e. a ribbon), a cake flavour chart and a form to complete so you can book a tasting and consultation appointment. Everything you need at your fingertips for planning!
These days I'm partial to the Vintage Lace cake from their signature line.
Even if you are not planning for a wedding cake, just go to the shop. Order a sweet and sit. Take it all in. It really is a piece of heaven. Along with my 7 year old sidekick, it is one of my most favourite places. Photos from B&B website and Facebook page. You can follow Bobbette & Belle on TwitterFacebook
There was a time in my life when I was in Oakville, a lot. I loved going downtown and although I was usually on my way to a pub, I often thought about how nice it would be to have a store-front in Oakville. It never happened for me but now I have a reason to go back to Oakville and hang out in a shop full of cookies! Janis + Elm Hill Cookies = happiness and treats. I always enjoy chatting with Janis about the business side of the wedding world but what I adore even more are the ever so sweet kraft paper boxes containing yummy guest favours that Elm Hill Cookies creates. I never say no to the offer of sampling some of these cookies. Never, ever. Being an English lass (of sorts), I definitely know my shortbread. Janis' shortbread is melts in my mouth. So many choices, so little time. There is more than shortbread! The Cookie Shop on Kerr Street in Oakville is another great way to sneak in and sample some treats. So whether you want a milk & cookie bar at your celebration, shortbread for an English tea party or beautifully wrapped guest favours of yummy cookies, Elm Hill Cookies should be your first stop.
I love this sentence from the web site, "Because a small amount of something spectacular can change everything." Isn't that the truth!?! All photos from Elm Hill Cookies Facebook page. Follow Elm Hill Cookies on TwitterFacebook
