At 8:48 on March 27, 1,201 migrant workers on K4931 train arrived in Guangzhou East Station after a 14-hour journey, starting their new year of hardworking. Operated by China Railway Wuhan Group Co., Ltd., it is the first conventional-speed work-returning dedicated train operated in Western Hubei.
Songzi City in Hubei Province, which is located on the bank of the Yangtze River, is an important part of the revolutionary base areas in western Hunan and Hubei Province. There are nearly 300,000 migrant workers. At present, only the third-class Songzi Station handles passenger transportation. After receiving a request from Songzi City to operate the work-returning dedicated train, China Railway Wuhan Group Co., Ltd. has quickly mobilized the train-set and has developed the train operation and seat setting plan, in which the train will be originated from Yichang, with all seats on the train reserved for Songzi passengers.
In view of the fact that Songzi Station has a small area, Yichang Station Depot has scientifically refined the transportation organization plan. It has ventilated and disinfected the public areas of Songzi Station in advance, and has arranged shuttle bus to directly drop the passengers at the station entrance. It has carefully checked the "green code" and temperature of passengers before ticket checking, and provided guidance boards and protection tips to ensure the orderly boarding of passengers.
According to the head of Songzi Station, the station will have more conventional-speed work-returning dedicated trains to ensure more people in the old revolutionary base areas can take trains to Guangzhou, Dongguan and Shenzhen for work.
