Affected by the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic, the number of CRE trains arriving at the railway border stations in Xinjiang from the hinterland has decreased in the previous period, but the routes for CRE trains entering and leaving China via the railway border stations in Xinjiang have maintained smooth and orderly operation.
In the battle of epidemic prevention and control, China Railway Urumqi Group Co., Ltd. has given full play to the advantages of transport corridors at two ports, i.e. Alataw Pass Border Station and Horgos Border Station. Since February 13, the number of CRE trains operated has gradually increased.
Alataw Pass Border Station and Horgos Border Station have continuously optimized the transportation organization of CRE trains, refined the safety measures, closely monitored the three indicators (car unloading at the wide-gauge yard, daily train pairs received and originated on wide-gauge track, and car loading), and strengthened the linkage between the standard-gauge yard and the wide-gauge yard. They have reasonably arranged the train uncoupling, placing-in and taking-out of cars, and cargo loading and unloading, shortened the loading and unloading time, and improved the transportation operation efficiency.
Alataw Pass Border Station and Horgos Border Station have further strengthened the coordination with the customs and border inspection authorities to realize the 24-hour customs clearance service. They have actively communicated and coordinated with Kazakhstan to solve the problems existing in the production organization, realizing quick inspection and customs clearance of the inbound freight, and opened up a green channel for CRE trains.
From January 1 to February 17 this year, 369 CRE trains crossed the Chinese border via Alataw Pass Border Station and 133 CRE trains via Horgos Border Station.
